Stress and Anxiety Buster

I have always been a very uptight, tense, and anxious person. It really sucks, because much of the time I don't even know the meaning of relaxation. When the kids are asleep, instead of relaxing or sitting down, I am racing around the house trying to work amongst several other products that I have on the go. After a while of this your nerves tend to get frazzled and you become easily stressed. This is something I hate having to deal with. So I decide to go and sit down for a few minutes, but before I realize it I have gotten up and got at something else I almost forgot to do.
Working with aromatherapy for me is a wonderful learning experience, I have alot of oils yet some of them are just sitting on my shelf collecting dust because I am too busy to work with them and learn their benefits. Geranium oil was one of those oils. So I took it down and put a few drops in the diffuser the while I continued being busy and cleaning. Within only a few minutes the smell was released into the air almost putting a mild sedating effect over me, the smell was so pretty, and so relaxing and soothing. I soon realized I wasn't half as anxious or uptight as I usually am, I went to a aromatherapy book I had and looked up the profile on geranuim, and what do you know? It is a nerve sedative! It treats depression and anxiety, making one feel at harmony. How awsome was that discovery! I am not sure that that bottle will ever see dust again!

An aroma of love

Because of being so near to Valentines Day how can we not wonder if these "aromatherapy oils" could be used to enhance those wonderful feelings of romance? Really though, could they?
There are actually several essential oils that can cause a wonderfully romantic setting in the air.
Jasmine and Rose are among the finest and most romantically inspiring essential oils known of, unfortunately, they are also among the most expensive. Yet there is such a vast amount of species in the flower kingdom that we aren't even near the end of our selection. Clary sage, Patchouli, and Ylang Ylang are all less expensive oils that are emotionally stimulants of our romantic side. These oils are calm and inspiring, known to lift depression, and mildly sedating the nerves....helping one to "unwind" or "relax". Since these oils are used on an emotional level the recomended application would be simpling having thier aroma in the air. You could burn them in an aroma lamp, diffuse them in an oil diffuser, or even dab a bit on your clothes as a perfume. (Remeber to check for irritations first... Some oils may irritate the skin).
